About Prest
Prest is software for bands that play to backing tracks: it plays the tracks, and it puts the words and chords on everyone's screen, in time with the song.
Three products, one show
Most bands start with Prest. Bands that already run their show from a DAW keep it, and add the part they need.
Prest
The app for the whole show: it prepares songs, plays them with the rig's MIDI, and serves the stage screens. PresTools and Prest Server are built in.
Prest Server
The stage screens, served from REAPER or Ableton Live: the setlist, the transport, and each song's lyrics and chords on every phone and tablet.
PresTools
Song preparation, in Prest or REAPER: stems, the tempo map, chords, and lyrics timed word by word.
How they treat your show
- Your computerEverything runs on the computer that plays the show. Songs are prepared there; nothing is uploaded.
- Your networkThe band's phones and tablets connect over the band's own network. A show needs no internet and no cloud service.
- No accountNo sign-up, no newsletters, no analytics, no telemetry.

The open-source components they include keep their own licenses, listed with each download.
Releases
Every release is built, checksummed, and published by an automated pipeline, with its notes on the release pages of Prest, Prest Server, and PresTools. Each download page shows how to check a file against its checksum.
