FAQ
Questions before rehearsal
These answers reflect the current source and tests. Unknown release details stay unknown until they are published.
What is Prest?
A browser-based live-performance manager that connects to REAPER or Ableton Live on a private local network.
Does Prest require the internet?
No Prest cloud service or account is involved. The browser still requires a local network connection to the runtime beside the DAW.
Can I use venue Wi-Fi?
No. Prest has no authentication, so use a band-owned router or hotspot that excludes untrusted devices.
Can several devices connect?
The runtime accepts browser clients on the local network. Exact multi-device limits and reconnect guarantees have not been published.
Are REAPER and Ableton workflows identical?
No. REAPER supports separate projects or one marker-based project. Ableton currently uses one Live Set with locators.
Is Prest a fully offline PWA?
No such support is documented. A web manifest exists, but the product has no service worker and still depends on the local host connection.
Where can I download Prest?
No public package or release manifest is available in the inspected project metadata. The Download page will expose artifacts only after verification.
What does a backup contain?
The song and setlist catalog. Importing merges copied records with new IDs rather than replacing the current catalog.
