Prest Server

Prest Server for Ableton Live

A Remote Script connects Ableton Live to Prest Server, which serves the stage screens on your local network.

Your Live Sets, as the show library

Put the show's Live Sets in one folder. A Set is one song, or holds several: each starts at a locator named S\ and the song's name, such as S\Opener. Locators named \ and a name mark its sections.

In the Arrangement View, the names of the clips on a track named Lyrics are the song's words, and on a track named Chordtrack its chords, each held for its clip's length.

Connection

A Control Surface entry loads the Remote Script: Prest in releases up to 0.1.1, PrestServer after them. The script starts the bridge process, and browser devices connect to the resulting local runtime on the same private network.

Limitations

Live opens another Set only as a file: each switch goes through Live's save prompt, which Prest Server dismisses without saving, so save your Sets first. In 0.1.1, bar numbers can be off where the time signature changes inside a song. The bridge is available for macOS and Windows; Ableton Live has no Linux version.
