Prest Server
Prest Server for REAPER
The Prest Server plugin runs inside REAPER and serves the stage screens on your local network.
Open the REAPER guideYour projects, as the show library
Put the show's projects in one folder. A project is one song, or holds several: each starts at a project marker named S\ and the song's name, such as S\Opener. Markers named \ and a name, such as \Chorus, mark its sections.
In the Editor, + Add All Projects adds every song in the library; setlists are made from them. Choosing a song on stage opens its project in REAPER.
Connection
When REAPER loads the plugin, its embedded server starts serving on the local network and advertises it as prest.local. Devices on the same private network open http://prest.local/. If port 80 is taken, or on Linux not allowed, it serves on a port from 8418 to 8422 and REAPER says which. If the server cannot start, REAPER shows the reason in a message box.
Prepare chords and lyrics with PresTools
Prest Server shows lyrics from the MIDI lyrics on a track named Lyrics, and chords from the items on a track named Chordtrack, each with its chord in the item's notes. PresTools, a separate REAPER extension, writes both tracks: it detects the chords and times the lyrics, and also separates stems and maps the tempo.
Install
The plugin is one file for REAPER's UserPlugins folder, available for macOS (Apple silicon and Intel), Windows x86_64, and Linux x86_64. The REAPER guide has the install steps for each system.
