Troubleshooting
Work from the host outward. Do not wipe data or change the show project until simpler checks identify the failing layer.
Integration does not load
Section titled “Integration does not load”- Confirm the installed package matches the operating system and architecture in its release manifest.
- Confirm the DAW version is listed as supported.
- REAPER: inspect plugin loading and console output.
- Ableton: confirm Prest appears and is selected as a Control Surface.
Because no public compatibility manifest exists yet, unresolved installation failures are a release blocker rather than a user-configurable fix.
Cannot connect
Section titled “Cannot connect”- Confirm the host integration reports that the runtime is ready.
- Confirm both devices use the same band-owned network.
- Enter the exact reported address.
- If
prest.localfails, try the reported IP address. - Check router client isolation and the host firewall.
- Avoid public, venue, and guest Wi-Fi.
Wrong or missing songs
Section titled “Wrong or missing songs”- Open Setup → Data.
- Confirm the project source status is ready.
- Confirm the chosen mode matches the project organization.
- REAPER: distinguish a folder of projects from one marker-based project.
- Ableton: confirm locators exist in the one active Live Set.
Lyrics or chords are absent
Section titled “Lyrics or chords are absent”- Confirm the selected song is the prepared host section.
- Confirm timed entries exist in the source project.
- Ableton: verify exact track names Lyrics and Chordtrack, and verify text is in clip names.
- Confirm transport position is inside the prepared entry range.
Transport does not match
Section titled “Transport does not match”- Stop playback safely in the DAW.
- Reload the browser and confirm the runtime reconnects.
- Reproduce play, pause, and stop with a rehearsal project.
- Record the host state, browser state, selected song, and action that diverged.
Backup import fails
Section titled “Backup import fails”- Confirm the file has the
.rpbakextension and came from Prest. - Keep the original file unchanged.
- Retry in the same product version that created it when possible.
- Do not wipe current data while import is unresolved.
Browser state looks stale
Section titled “Browser state looks stale”Reload first. Clearing browser site data removes local preferences, selection, onboarding, and project configuration; export catalog data and note the current setup before clearing anything.
Gather useful diagnostics
Section titled “Gather useful diagnostics”Record the Prest release, operating system, DAW and version, browser and version, integration, project mode, exact local address form, visible connection status, reproduction steps, and relevant host logs. A verified support destination is still awaiting owner publication.
