Core concepts
A song is Prest’s catalog record for a DAW project file or a section inside one shared project. Records can include a name, duration, path, tempo, key, notes, tags, and an optional document reference.
Setlist and active setlist
Section titled “Setlist and active setlist”A setlist is an ordered list of song IDs with a heading and date. Performance uses the selected setlist as its stage sequence. All Songs is a virtual performance choice that can be exposed or hidden in Setup.
Project source
Section titled “Project source”The project source tells Prest where the host’s songs come from.
- REAPER multi-project: songs refer to separate project files.
- REAPER single-project: songs refer to marker-delimited sections in one project.
- Ableton single-project: songs correspond to locators in one Live Set.
Performance state
Section titled “Performance state”The host supplies transport position and play state. Prest displays that state and sends requested transport actions back to the host. Browser preferences can retain the selected setlist, song index, lyric scale, and timing visibility across reloads.
Timed lyrics and chords
Section titled “Timed lyrics and chords”Lyrics and chords are beat-positioned entries rendered against the current song timeline. The source format differs by host; see the REAPER and Ableton guides.
